demain la terre – eco-strategy
demain la terre (our planet, tomorrow) is a French association of fruits & vegetables producers. Initiated in 2005 by major operators in their own category, it shows a striking vision of the agriculture of tomorrow: an agriculture which assumes its role, which reconciles yield, nutrition and health, which takes charge of the Nature and its biodiversity and which wisely integrates the bioengineering issues.
what is at stake
how to build a strategy for Demain la Terre which can be understood by the consumers and act in the respect of governmental rules ?
the agoodforgood® solution - eco-strategy
- eco-strat® matrix - 3 key priorities– 1,input control and transparency; 2, GMO’s ; 3, preservation of natural resources: water and soil
- identification of 65 best practices all eligible to sustainability criteria and all acted by Demain la Terre members
- build and create the communication plan
- elaborate strategic partnerships with NGO’s and the civil society – eg with UNAF, l’Union Nationale des Apiculteurs Français (the French Beekeepers main Association)
- creation of a label validated by a control comitee that brings together three colleges : professionals, experts and civil society. Eventually this “sign of superior quality” is certified by a certification body, Ecocert Environnement
- 9 technical constituents : phytosanitary imputs, GMOs, water, soil, energies, wastes, economics, social aspects and biodiversity. More than 80 relevant, concise and measurable criteria are audited, subdivided into 4 various adaptations according to different agricultural techniques, i.e. arboriculture, viticulture or cultures under cover.
